Character Information

Character Applying For: Canti
Canon Source: FLCL
Character's age: Unknown
Race (Human/Vampire/Half-Vampire/Clan Hunter/Family Born Hunter/Independent Hunter): Independent Hunter
Character Personality: Canti was programmed to have the most basic human emotions. He is very caring for those who own him and will listen to any command that is given to him.

Canti is hesitant to trust strangers and will often keep his guard up whenever around them. However, once the initial hesitation is broken he will generally accept someone as if they were part of his family.

Canti was programmed to destroy all vampires on sight, but his human emotions often lead him to question the fact that all vampires are “evil”. These conflicting views will usually result in a program malfunction that renders him harmless to vampires, unless otherwise commanded to attack.

The only way Canti is able to communicate with others (aside from writing or typing) is the television mounted on his head.
Character Description: Canti stand just over 7 feet tall. His body appears to be metallic, although the exact components are unknown. The majority of his body is a sky blue with bits of yellow, white and red as decoration.

Canti’s most noticeable feature is the large television he has installed for a head. He has full control over the image displayed on the screen and will often use it to communicate with those around him. A grille was installed under the T.V. to resemble a mouth, but its purpose is unknown… even to Canti.
Character Bio/History: Nearly thirty years ago the Leonhart Corporation began plans to create the worlds perfect household companion. It would be able to perform any household task and, in the event of an emergency, was even able to repel attackers from its owner. The project was labeled the Canti project.

Years went by until a prototype was finally produced, but finally the day arrived when Mr. Leonhart was ready to unveil his creation. They held a press conference one day to show what they had been secretly working on for so many years; however, the public did not take kindly to the idea of Canti.
People soon began to worry that an A.I. may threaten what little grasp they had on humanity. Fear soon began to turn into hatred towards the Corporation’s new product. Protests became a common sight outside of the central headquarters. Eventually Mr. Leonhart admitted defeat and closed any and all plans to continue with the Canti project.

There was one small problem though…… What was he going to do with the Canti prototype? He could easily have it disassembled and stripped of any useful parts, but Mr. Leonhart couldn’t bear to see that happen to his own creation. So, rather than destroy the Canti, he decided to keep it for himself.

Canti fit right in with the Leonhart household. He was always helping the staff, be it cleaning the priceless antiques or helping the chef prepare Mrs. Leonhart’s favorite dish. A year or so after he had arrived at their household the family received wonderful news. The Leonharts were expecting their first child.

One day, just months before the child was due, Mrs. Leonhart had asked Canti to move all the old furniture from the baby’s new room into the basement. He had made about 10 successful trips down a nearly endless flight of stairs when he finally made a mistake. He was carrying the a large dresser down the stairs when he lost his balance. Canti managed to catch himself at the bottom of the staircase, but unfortunately the dresser landed on the back of his head and caused him to short circuit.

The Leonharts had Canti moved into the basement for storage until Mr. Leonhart could find the time to repair him, however, the birth of their new son soon took light over their mechanical helper locked away in the basement. The house is no longer occupied but Canti remains in the basement until this day, waiting for someone to come and reactivate him.
